The business of the Bank consists principally of attracting deposits from the general public and investing these funds in loans secured by single-family residential and commercial real estate, secured and unsecured commercial loans, and consumer loans. The Bank's commercial real estate loan portfolio includes loans secured by small office buildings, commercial and industrial buildings, and small apartment buildings. 1st State Bank also offers residential and commercial construction loans, with a significant portion of such loans originated for the construction of owner-occupied, single-family dwellings. In addition, the Bank originates commercial loans to small and medium-sized businesses in its market area. 1st State Bank has seven full service offices located in north central North Carolina on the Interstate 85 corridor between the Piedmont Triad and Research Triangle Park.
